Create Your Perfect Morning

Here’s a few questions for the morning, as I sip my coffee and catch up on the news of the day… okay they’re basically the same question, but one I’ve begun asking as I get back into the swing of things and try to prepare for the next couple years.

What is most important to you?

If you had the time (which, I know, none of us have) what is that one thing you would really like to do on a daily basis that you feel would make a big difference in your life?

What do you want to cultivate within your world of habits and would have real impact?

Think about that for just a little while. Any area of your life, exercise and healthy eating to self-improvement, or getting ahead in business or at your job. Other things could include work on the relationship you have with your partner or children, eking out time for a creative pursuit, or picking a new habit like reading every morning.

When you have that important habit to work on, what to improve, and what’s important to you, think about how you can make it a part of your morning routine.

Picture your perfect morning. Not stressed. Not rushed. It’s a day where you have time for everything on the list. A long shower. Going for a walk or run before breakfast. Maybe, it’s having a few minutes to connect with your partner over some morning tea, or maybe carving out an hour in the morning to work on that side-hustle.

There are a lot of possibilities, but the key is to focus on what is a priority for you and to think about how it can be fit into your routine in the morning. Remember, at this point, your just thinking about it. A daydream. Working on figuring out where the time will come from, and how to make it all work out in the end will come later. Right now we’re thinking. Imagining. Painting that picture of what that new morning would look like.

Take the moment. Let what’s important to you become clear. Imagine it in all its glory and detail. Then, write it down in a journal, piece of paper, Keep note, wherever. Just define that perfect morning.

So, why is this important? Because I’m learning that you can’t start to make a meaningful in change your life until you know what the goal, the endgame, is. The longest journey may begin with a single step but knowing your destination before start will help in picking the route and how you’ll get there. That’s what this is all about. Figuring out where you want to be. Take the moment, and don’t stop until you have it figured out and firmly pictured in your mind.
